Nick Marshall is founder and head coach of
KAN Do Hoops. He graduated from Field
Kindley High in Coffeyville, Kansas. Nick
continued his playing career in college as a
two-year member of the NJCAA Division II
Brown Mackie College, where he was second in the nation in free throw shooting with a 93% average. In an effort to give back to his high school alma mater, Nick returned in the summers to Coffeyville to coach a junior high team. This was where he started developing his fundamental outlook and passion to help develop today's youth.
"I started to feel like it (fundamentals) was a lost art. I wanted to get back to the roots and felt the best way to achieve that was to start instilling fundamentals at an early age."
After graduating from Brown Mackie College, Nick attended the University of Kansas, where he became very involved in refereeing basketball. In 2008, Nick received the opportunity to begin coaching again and pursued it with passion. He has had continual success in developing individual fundamental skills, as well as team concepts and skills throughout the Kansas area. Today, he is determind to continue to help teach the youth the fundamentals of basketball one dribble at a time, while also maintaining a full-time Division I referee career.
KAN Do Hoops is committed to teaching fundamental basketball skills to boys and girls of all ages. Our goal is to not only teach basketball skills using drills in a positive environment but also to promote each athlete's attitude, character, team concept and just overall philosophy of the game. KAN Do Hoops will utilize skills and drills clinics, player development clinics, practice, league play/tournaments, private lessons and camps developing players.
